Hi, I set up a staff training course on Moodle with several single upload assignments. To demonstrate uploading, on the first assignment I submitted a random text file. Because I was the teacher (I'm also administrator, but I had no other enrollment on the course), I did not appear on the grading page.
However I noticed a few things:
- 6 students submitted assignments but when I opened the assignment the link in the top right said "View 7 submitted assignments".
- If I visited the "My Home" page, it insisted that I had one assignment ungraded when all visible submissions were graded.
- Although I could delete the file (open the assignment and Update my submission, I saved changes without attaching a file) it still counted it as a submission, and wouldn't let me delete my submission.
I enrolled myself as a student and graded my submission, just to get rid of the "1 assignment ungraded" notification, but it seems odd that I can't clear out this submission, or that as a teacher, my submission is still "counted" even though it isn't available for grading.
If this happened in one of our main courses, it could mess up the statistics to have teacher/ demonstration submissions "counted" when they shouldn't be. Is there a way to get rid of this submission?
Alicia
PS: apologies for the lack of screenshots, I can recreate and submit images if necessary
