I have been going around and around with moodle for a bit now and I'm trying to figure out how to best set up and cofigure my courses so they can be assigned quickly to diverse groups.
Basically I need it to work like this:
I want to create top-level course categories -- for example HR, Sales-US and Sales-ASIA. If I add an new course under HR, I want every person of group "employee" to be automatically enrolled as that would be something universal to all employees.
If I add a course in the category of Sales-US, I want every salesperson in US region to be automatically enrolled in that course. If I add the same sales course, but it is localized in another language, I want to automatically enroll all Salespeople in Asia in that course.
I don't want to do this course by course and select users from a list as there are too many to remember or keep track of. I need to be able to add users to multiple groups (Sales-Asia and Employee).
If I can't do auto enroll, that's fine as long as I can create groups once and just choose that group from a dropdown or something when I assign the course.
Can someone give me a quick set of processes/steps to accomplish this?
