I have been learning how to be firm with deadlines. Up until recently I have been sympathetic with excuses and caused my self a lot of extra work. This term I enforced the loss of a letter grade if a project is late and and loose additional letter per day late. Surprizingly enough few were late and only student one complained about it.
Recently was this headline: "Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil lost out on an $8 million contract to his team because his faxed contract arrived 6 minutes past the 4 p.m. deadline, making him a free agent. Dumervil fired his agent."
Now I agree, Late is late. That is it!. I no longer see any reason to allow late submissions. Q.E.F.
