Uploaded Assignment Numbers Moodle 2.2.x

Small point, but annoying.  We need to have an accurate audit of assignments in Moodle.  However, when i look at the assignments in the gradebook the actual number of uploaded assignments is different to the "View all [n] Assignments" link on the menu and also in the assignment summary that the marker would see.

This means we cannot go by the View all [n] Assignments and have to manually check all uploads.

is this a bug in 2.2x, we are upgrading to 2.4 in the summer, but I'd like to know anyway.
