Can you use a rubric but manually enter the mark?

Hi,

I am very impressed with the rubric feature but wonder whether there is a way to override the mark which is a mean of the marks awarded.

We're marking coursework assignments using criteria that are in three columns (essentially grades E, C and A). If a student produces work that is generally in the A-grade column but one task scores an E, we sometimes say that their final mark will be an E grade, forcing them to address that one task.

Hopefully the attached image illustrates what I mean.

I love the clarity of the rubric which shows students which 'band' their work falls into but I wonder if we can put our own manual mark in. The only way I can think to do it is to have two assignments for each task. One, the rubric, which is a visual illustration and another which is just a manual grade that shows up in the gradebook.

Does that make sense??
