The Massey University Lightwork team have been developing a proposal to add Marker Allocation and Management to the new Assignment module:

This proposal builds on the work Damyon has already done in the assignment module and adds a feature that currently exists in Lightwork directly into Moodle core.
Before we kick off any development it would be appreciated if the community could provide feedback on this proposal - if there are areas that you think need improvement or adjustment please be specific about how you think that problem could be resolved.
We'd like to get this feature included in core Moodle 2.5 (depending on approval from Damyon as the component maintainer)
