Annotating PDF - Ghostscript can't convert Adobe CID Fonts?

by Joël Schmid.

Hello everybody

If a user uploads a PDF document containing Adobe CIDFonts (see first Print-Screen), then some parts might not be readable while grading a PDF with the "Annotating PDF" function. In the print-screen below the title text is not readable at all and umlauts are not displayed correctly. However, if I download the PDF everything is displayed correctly.

We're running GPL Ghostscript 9.07 on CentOS  7.

My guess is, that Ghostscript can't handle Adobe's CID Fonts. Does anyone have the same problem and maybe a solution?

Following documentation describes, that CID Fonts need to be mapped using CMap, does anyone have experience with this? Can it be done on the Moodle Site or is it rather a Ghostscript setting? http://www.ghostscript.com/doc/9.06/Use.htm#CIDFonts

Thank in advance for your help and inputs!
