Assignment after reset and re-enrolment

Hi,

I have a question about grades and files in the assignment activity after resetting a course. 

I use Moodle 2.5.5

I'm just wondering why, though "recovergradesdefault" is disabled in the site administration, I can still find the grades and comments and files of students when they enrol again (or if I manually enrol them). The gradebook is empty, but not the activity. Do you have an explanation ? 

And by the way, I also wonder how to totally reset the course if teachers don't want to keep the former students' work.
