Thanks for your response. The answer is no once an additional attempt is allowed there doesn’t seem to be anyway to close it or disallow it. The only option seems to lock the submission to prevent students accessing it. The reason this is such an issue is that under BTEC, students are only allowed 2 submissions. If a second attempt is allowed by accident it can cause confusion for both teachers and students, being able to undo or remove the attempt would be ideal.

| Hi Ruth, - guessing here, but if you unlock the attempt and then Edit the Submission yourself (by clicking "Edit - Edit Submission") will that enable you to make that message go away? |
