Ok, you asked for it!!!  Here are my initial ones...

1. Students will quickly find out which markers are easier to please than others.

2. If there are any personal relationships with markers, students will then pick the markers that they know and that will put the markers in a difficult position.

3.  Students will come back saying that they picked the wrong marker when they do not like their grade! 

4.  Some markers will be inundated with work while others will have very little to do (see number 1).

Have you thought about using the blind marking feature?  This is where the markers cannot see the names/id of the students that they are marking.  If you are truly concerned about unbiased marks, this would be a much better way to go.
