Is there a way to share an activity between 2 or more courses?

I am using Moodle 2.8. I am looking for a way to share/link a single activity between two or more courses so that the activity completion in one course is reflected in the other.

Here is the example:

I have one course "First Aid" with several activities that need to be complete before the course is complete. I have another course "CPR", which uses some of the same activities. I don't want the student to have to redo the activity in "CPR" if they have already done it in "First Aid".

How can I accomplish this?
