Turning Blind Marking on and off

We have Moodle 2.7 soon to be upgrading to 2.8.

The Assignment Activity now allows us to modify deadlines for individual students. This is useful.  However, with blind marking we cannot easily make these modifications. Our work around is to put the students we need to edit into a group and then view the group in the assignment activity. This works, but is a faff.  Is there a better way to do it? I cannot see that you can turn blind marking on and off, even as admin.
