Having read the moodle 2.7 docs, I can see there is a capability mod/assign:editothersubmission which gives the "capability to delete assignments"
1) As admin user, I've gone into the Manage roles and set "Allow" on the capability.
Home ► Site administration ► Users ► Permissions ► Define roles
Manage roles:- Teacher
Activity: Assignment
Edit another student's submission
mod/assign:editothersubmission - capability set to Allow
2) I then go to my course and allow the teacher to have this capability:
Permissions in Assignment: Assignment - Lesson 1:
Activity: Assignment
Edit another student's submissionmod/assign:editothersubmission
Roles with permission: Teacher
I check by clicking Check permissions and the Teacher has this capability.
When I login as the teacher and go to the assignment - I can see no way to delete it. Can anyone help?
However, when I go back to the Manage roles (as admin), I see "Default: Not set" under Allow for the capability.
Any help is much appreciated.
