Thanks Jason. I have just checked and the issue still exists in 2.5.
If this makes sense to you let me know so that I can add it to the tracker, I don't want to add it until I'm sure that I have explained it clearly.
This is our current work flow.
Pupils are completing a criteria based assessment and staff expect them to upload and submit work frequently so that they can receive feedback and so that staff can check that pupils are making steady progress.
The interim assessment involves awarding any criteria that have been completed on a scale H, Higher than required, S secure, L Lower and N No evidence provided.
Pupils only receive a grade when all of the criteria have been completed at S or higher and then they are awarded a fixed points value for the unit dependent on the exam board specification for that unit.
We have created one scale for all of the assignments that covers the points for 2 levels of courses S1, S2, S3, S4, G1, G2, G3, G4 at the moment pupils have to be awarded S1 as the lowest grade available when they should only be able to receive No grade or G4 (for this particular assignment.
Returning to your comment, does that mean that I could use quick grading to look at files, and provide submission comments and award criteria without having to go to the grading pave which would force me to award a grade for the assignment.
Not ideal as I was hoping to use the Ajax marking block to help staff identify work to make more easily (Although the filter on the submissions page helps here) as I'm assuming that it will take me straight to the grading page which would then force us to enter a grade for incomplete work.
Looking through the new settings for assignments I can see options that would really help us like automatically reopening the assignment after marking until pupils achieve a pass grade, but this still would not work for our scale as it assumes that pupils are able to work up through the grades until they achieve at least a pass grade.
